The official opening ceremony of the 26th international exhibition of food, beverages and raw materials for their production ProdExpo-2019, the largest food show in Russia and Eastern Europe, was held today at Expocentre Fairgrounds. Speaking at the opening ceremony, General Director of Expocentre JSC Sergey Bednov expressed deep gratitude to the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia, as well as all relevant associations and unions for support in organizing the exhibition.

He noted that this year ProdExpo again demonstrates significant quantitative and qualitative growth. The exhibition occupies all nine main pavilions of the "Expocentre", as well as additional temporarily erected pavilions. Exposure area exceeds 100,000 square meters.

2,442 companies from 69 countries of the world, including from Europe, Asia, America, Africa, Australia, demonstrate their best samples of food and beverages. 30 countries are represented by national expositions.

The geography of the Russian regional expositions has also expanded. They are represented by 21 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. In total, 1,722 Russian manufacturers and suppliers of food and beverages participate in ProdExpo-2019.

28 thematic shops cover all segments of the Russian and foreign food market without exception, demonstrating good dynamics. The premiere of the exhibition is a specialized section of producers and suppliers of organic food and beverages "Prodexpo Organic".

According to Sergey Bednova, the exhibition is not just a demonstration of goods, but, above all, business communication. There are a large number of conferences, seminars, workshops on various issues and topics. The exhibition will also traditionally operate network procurement centers that allow direct contacts between producers and those who sell products.
